Breast Calcifications, need info on surgical biopsy please.?
I had a mammo done almost 2 months ago and they found 2 areas of calcification. They tried to do a needle biopsy but failed. I am suppose to have the surgery done but am scared of how invasive it might be.
I had breast augmentation with lift done 3 years ago and really am not up for any recovery time. I simply can’t afford to take off work. Has anyone had this done? How long does it take to recover?
Also wondering if maybe the calcifications could be trauma from my breast lift?
Thanks.
These are questions you should be asking your doctor, not a bunch of people on this site. Calcifications can be malignant and should be evaluated sooner rather than later. It is better to loose a little time from work now, than a lot later if you have to undergo chemo and radiation.
It is possible that you could have the biopsies on a Friday and be back at work on Monday, depending on what type of work you do, but only your doctor can honestly answer this
If you really value your health get it done, if it turns out you have breast cancer, the sooner it is treated the better the outcome and less time lost from work
